Are you curious about Japan, excited by new cultures, or ready for an unforgettable adventure? This could be your chance to experience life in our Sister City, Eniwa, Japan!
Timaru District Council is offering an incredible opportunity for three secondary school students to take part in a three-week escorted Educational and Cultural Exchange to Eniwa, Japan in June/July 2027.
Students will have the opportunity to stay with a Japanese host family, attend school, explore local traditions, make new friendships, and experience everyday life in Japan.
Applying is easy. You’ll need a current valid passport and permission from your parents or guardians.
The approximate airfare cost for each student is $3,000 and optional personal spending money of around $250–$500. Travel subsidies may be available, and there is no accommodation cost as students will be home-hosted with a Japanese family.
