The school community was saddened to receive news of Brent Bruce's [TBHS 1950-54] death in early September 2025. Brent was a wonderfully loyal Old Boy and very proud of his school connections.
Throughout his schooldays Brent engaged in all that was on offer - brass band, rugby and cricket. His career in accountancy flourished and he was most caring family man.
Brent supported and led in North Canterbury Old Boy branch activities over the decades. On his retirement to Geraldine he provided guidance and leadership to the Old Boy Foundation.
At Brent’s funeral in Geraldine his wife, Judith and family designated that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Timaru Boys’ High School Memorial Library . This was to honour Brent’s love of learning and connection to the school.
The THSOBA plans to build on this generous gesture recognising Brent and his families generosity.
