Aoraki Swimming
Ashburton was again the setting for the Aoraki Swimming Championship. Timaru Boys’ High School sent a team of eight swimmers; Lachlan Crawford, Jack Bennett, Geunwoo Kim, Isaac Boorer-Lilley, Logan Dunn, Rex Liu, Ted Tudgey and Lucas Dirkzwager.
Logan, Rex, Ted and Lucas won both their medley and freestyle relays, while the seniors, Lachlan, Jack, Geunwoo and Isaac, came second in both their relays.
Individual results are as follows:
Lachlan Crawford - 2nd 200 individual medley, 3rd 100 butterfly, with two other top ten finishes.
Jack Bennett - 2nd 50 backstroke and one other top ten finish (note: unfortunately dq’d after a 3rd in the 50 freestyle for a slight movement on the starting blocks)
Geunwoo Kim - 3rd 50 backstroke, 3rd 50 breaststroke and one other top ten finish.
Isaac Boorer-Lilley - 2nd 50 butterfly, and one other top ten finish
Logan Dunn - 4th in the 200 freestyle, the 100 backstroke and the 200 individual medley. The timer failed in his 100 breaststroke.
Rex Liu - 2nd 200 individual medley, 2nd 50 butterfly, 4th 100 individual medley, and one other top ten finish
Lucas Dirkzwager - 4th 100 breaststroke, and three other top ten finishes.
