What a very successful campaign this was for the TBHS community.
Each and every form class contributed to 194 bags being filled for the South Canterbury area and at least 60% of those bags, were filled by TBHS students.
Congratulations to 12HLE who contributed the most items.
The items that did not stock the handbags will go towards stocking the women’s refuge safe houses (which are usually occupied before a handbag can be delivered) so that will ease some of the pressure on refuge as well. All the food items are going to be given to the refuge as well so they can be handed out as they see fit.
Thanks to our boys, every woman in refuge care in Timaru, will now receive a
handbag! The appeal is going to run again next year, so hopefully, we will again be involved. We’ve had great feedback re conversations this has initiated - good men in the making.
