This year’s exchange was played in Timaru in balmy winter conditions on Monday the 12 th of June.
The highlight for TBHS was in Hockey winning both the 1st and 2nd XI matches. The 1st XI maintained their strong start to the season having control over a competitive St Andrew’s side throughout the match, which doubled as a first round SSP competition fixture. A Ryan Caldwell double saw TBHS run out 2-0 victors. The 2nd XI put in a strong team performance to control the majority of possession in their match. Ajay Caldwell and Josh Rees were the goal scorers as the 2nds also ran out 2-0 winners.
The 1st XI Footballers continued their recent dominance of St Andrew’s with a comprehensive 4-0 victory. Kowin Hancock was a key part of the TBHS attack up front while Braydon Hill marshalled the defence well and pushed forward at every opportunity. The junior game ebbed and flowed with STAC emerging with a 2-1 win.
St Andrew’s took the honours in both basketball games. The TBHS senior team hung in with a talented opponent in a 70-61 defeat. A big, skilful STAC team took out the junior game 100-45. This was a significant step up from local competition for the TBHS junior team.
St Andrew's were victors in three of the four rugby games. In the 1st XV match STAC took their opportunities better than a TBHS team struggling for shape and continuity on attack winning 33-7. A polished STAC 2nd XV won 38-7 while both junior games were competitive affairs. TBHS took a pleasing 33-20 win in the Colts game while STAC won an entertaining Under 14 encounter 43-33.
The Trapshooting out at the Levels range saw STAC take a tight 399-391 win. Riley Beattie was the top shooter for TBHS.
