Kyle and Crawford crowned champions at swimming sports

The annual TBHS swimming sports were held in fine conditions on the 17th of February.

In the Junior Championship Lachlan Crawford was the dominant performer. He picked up titles in the 100 and 200 metre Freestyle events as well as in the 50-metre Breaststroke. His strongest competition throughout the day came from Jack Parry and Jack Bennett who beat Crawford into 2nd place when picking up titles in the 50 metre Freestyle and Backstroke races.

The Senior Championship was notable for its competitiveness which led to several exciting finishes. Year 12 student Thomas Kyle with wins in the 100 and 200 metre Freestyle, along with the 50 metre Backstroke was just able to hold off Alex Tudgey of Year 11 to be named overall Senior Champion. Tudgey also took out a hat-trick of titles in the 50 and 1500 metre Freestyle and 50 metre Butterfly events. Benson Arnold and Jack Boorer-Lilley also performed with credit with Arnold claiming a title in the 50 metre Breaststroke.

Hogben took overall honours as the Inter-house competition and these sports may also have been significant as the swansong for perennial MC Deputy Rector Rodney Sparrow.
