The annual exchange was played in fine conditions in Oamaru on the 1st of March.

In the 50-over 1st X1 cricket match, Timaru batted first on a low, slow wicket after recent wet weather. Some indifferent shot selection against a steady bowling side saw TBHS in trouble at 121-9. A fine tenth wicket stand of 84 between Ross McCulloch and Kade McMillan saw Timaru eventually dismissed for a competitive 205 with McCulloch scoring an outstanding 115. In reply Waitaki struggled against a consistent TBHS bowling effort. Wickets were shared between Harry Elliotte (three) and Harry Schmack and Fletcher Rhodes with two apiece. Rhodes also took three fine slips catches.

The golf team of Daniel Poulter, Ryan Caldwell, Josh Rees and Jackson Smith recorded a strong three and a half to a half win in the foursome’s match play on the Lower Waitaki Course. The tennis team of Tom Geary, Ryan Watt, Caleb Kelly and Jacob Caird were similarly dominant in a 6-0 win on the grass courts at Chelmer Street.
