Division II New Zealand Swimming Championships

This event was held in Dunedin from 9-13 May with fiveTimaru Boys’ High School swimmers attending: Thomas Kyle, Jack Boorer-Lilley, Harry Sargent, Luke Tompkins and Alex Tudgey.

Thomas Kyle won a gold medal in the 100m Individual Medley, a silver medal in the 50m Breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 100m Breaststroke. He also made finals in the 100m Backstroke (5th), 50m freestyle (5th) and 50m Butterfly.

Alex Tudgey won a bronze medal in the 200m Backstroke. 5th in the 1500m Freestyle and made the final of the 100m Freestyle, where he placed 7th. He also placed 10th in the 800m Freestyle. He also swam in the 200m Freestyle (taking 5.16 sec off his personal best time), the 100m Individual Medley and the 200m Individual Medley.

Luke Tompkins won a bronze medal in the 50m Freestyle and gained a 5th place in the 100m Backstroke. Racing in the 50m Butterfly, 200m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley and the 100m Individual Medley he produced four personal best times from the five races.

Jack Boorer-Lilley made a final in the 200m Individual Medley (7th), 400m Freestyle (5th) and the 200m Backstroke (5th) and 800m Freestyle (7th). He also swam in the 100m Breaststroke, 200m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke, where he produced three personal best times.

Harry Sargent swam in the 200m Breaststroke where he took -3.48 off his previous time. He also swam the 200m Individual Medley.
