Shakespeare Festival

On 31 March, two groups from Timaru Boys' participated in the Aoraki Regional Shakespeare Globe Centre NZ, University of Otago Sheilah Winn Festival of Shakespeare in Schools.

Both groups presented 5 minute excerpts from Shakespeare; Reuben Woods and Tui Wood with a scene from Much Ado About Nothing Nick Cummings and James Dolan (pictured left) with the gravedigger scene from Hamlet. Both performances were exceptional, with the teams being praised for their understanding of text, use of movement and space. Unfortunately we didn't walk away with a place, but Tui was awarded direct entry into the National Schools Shakespeare Production in the Term 2 holidays. We have set the bar high for our future performances and, with all performers being eligible to enter again in 2017, we're excited about their future potential.
