The race was scheduled for Thursday 7th June but was postponed to the next day and also a change of venue.

The race is normally run at Mountainview School but was this year raced on Ashbury Park.

First up was Saxon McNoe who showed real grit and determination to finish a creditable 5th place.

We had three runners from the school in the Intermediate Boys race with Ryan Bagrie taking out the Intermediate Boys title with a resounding 2.30 minute gap back to second!! The other two boys, Hamish Yeatman and Quinn Motley finishing 4th and 10th respectively. Those three boys also won the Intermediate teams’ title.

In the Senior Boys race George Guerin ran an outstanding race where tactics were the key ingredient of the day, the lead changed back and forth with the Ashburton runner taking the title and George finishing in second place. George was supported by Josh Earnshaw 5th, Harry Black 12th, Jack Blakemore 20th, Seb van der Bosch 21st, Campbell Plows 24th and Robert Chapman 25th. George, Josh and Harry also won the Senior Boys Team race.

We would like to wish Ryan Bagrie all the best for the weekend he competes in Taupo. Ryan is also in the Canterbury Regional Relay Team for this weekend as well.
