The TBHS 2019 Pest Tail Competition is underway, running from 5 June to 26 July (Week 1, Term 3).
The competition is organised by the school environmental group and the purpose of the event is to eradicate as many local pests as possible and to get students involved in the push to have New Zealand predator free.
We're encouraging students to bring in the tails of pests they have eradicated before the end date. Tails will be accepted frozen or fresh (so we don't get rotten tails after being left for a month). Pests accepted are deer, tahr, stoats, ferrets, weasels, possums, rabbits, wallabies and goats.
Students should definitely get involved. Not only are there big first, second and third place prizes, there will also be spot prizes so anyone has a chance at winning gear and money from our sponsors!
