The 2021 Arts Extravaganza 16-18 June is set to be an awesome three days of creativity, with all students being encouraged to participate.
All workshops are first come first served and most have limited numbers. These are all great taster courses that can open the students’ eyes to new and exciting skills.
Units offered include:
- working with nationally recognised food artist Tracy Johnston to work on cake decorating and chocolate
- Film Making from scripts moving to actual film making
- a Capella singing intro and advanced
- School of Rock: Have you ever wanted to be in a rock band??
- a trip to the theatre to see how it all works, including lighting and sound
- Live Theatre
- a poetry workshop to introduce the writing process, leading to publishing; there will also be lots of poetry from motivation to inspiration to developing ideas and forming the poem
- Stage Craft: general stage etiquette/IQ
- Script writing
- Woodturning: working with members of the Timaru woodturning club to create a unique piece
- Digital Art: Have you wondered how to create something on your device? Creating a digital landscape painting using Photoshop
- Hip Hop Dancing for the beginner or more advanced
- Maori art and musical instrument making will look into both subjects with an eye on culture and fun
