The inaugural presentation of the George Hill Trophy took place on Saturday 14 July at the annual match between senior teams from George's former school, Timaru Boys' High School, and Thistle Football Club at Sir Basil Arthur Park.
The life of the 17-year-old, who died in tragic circumstances in Timaru's CBD in March, was honoured at the special presentation following the game won by Thistle 8-1.
The trophy was presented to the Hills by Thistle president and Coach Mark Offen. The family will look after the trophy until next year’s match between the two teams.
