SI Schools Cross Country 2026

A team of 15 Timaru Boys’ athletes travelled to Invercargill for the South Island Schools’ Championships on Sunday, May 24th. Racing was held on an old golf course at Oreti Sands. The 1600m loop was soft, undulating and challenging for all and our runners competed with distinction against many of the best runners in the South Island.

Connor Scoon was our top individual with an exceptional 2nd place result. His team won gold in the three to score teams race ahead of King’s High. This proved crucial as our Junior and Senior teams were narrow second place finishers to King’s. When the scores were combined King’s top nine added to 87 with TBHS totalling 80.
