Held 8th & 9th February
This year's OBHS exchange was played in Dunedin, on the 8th-9th of February, in pleasant conditions.
We were well looked after, and it was an enjoyable exchange.
In the 1st XI cricket fixture, OBHS batted first and patiently compiled 202. In reply TBHS lost wickets steadily, to be dismissed for 107. OBHS were then content to bat TBHS out of the game, and record a first innings win to retain the Heathcote Williams Shield. This shield was presented to New Zealand cricket in 1908, and OBHS recently defeated Christ's College to become the national holders.
In the 50 over-a-side 2nd XI match, three early wickets to Ollie Shaw gave TBHS some impetus. OBHS recovered to post a competitive 187. TBHS fell 82 runs short in reply, being dismissed for 105. The Colts played well and won their game by 46 runs.
The open 8-a-side tennis fixture was played at the OBHS dome. In a tight contest, with Timaru's senior boys particularly competitive, OBHS took the honours 9-3.
The Golf was played at the Otago Golf Club's Balmacewen course. Mr Simpson's win bonus, as the manager of the golf team, continues to remain unclaimed, on the back of Otago's 4-0 win. All the TBHS players did well, taking their lower handicapped opponents to either hole 15 or 16, before succumbing to defeat.
