Great community involvement from boys in 10ENVO supporting the restoration of the Taiao.

Members of the Year 10 Envo class have been volunteering their time with a planting project around the Normanby Lagoon. Over the course of 2 separate afternoons, we managed to plant over 500 native species!

A huge thank you to Chris Konings from the South Canterbury Eco Centre for his help with this project.

Normanby Lagoon sits between Ellis Road and Normanby Road, just south of Timaru. With guidance from Biodiversity Facilitator Chris Konings, local residents created a restoration plan to bring this special wetland back to life. Chris continues to support the group with planting.

A big thank you also to teacher Brien Wills, who has been connecting this group with the Eco Centre on Friday afternoons throughout the term. Their help has been fantastic — we’re grateful for the energy and hard work they bring each week!
