Senior Solo Music Display
Senior Solo Music Display
Thursday of Week 9 Term 3 our senior musicians from both Timaru Boys’ and Girls’ High took to the stage for our annual ‘Senior Solo Music Display’. This year's theme? Psychedelic! We transformed the Drama Room theatre into essentially a giant kaleidoscope, placed a few lava lamps here and let the students absolutely own the stage. This was used as an opportunity for them to be able perform their assessment pieces for NCEA in front of an audience.
Throughout the school day, our very talented Year 11 and Year 12 students showcased their skills, performing solo pieces in front of staff and classmates. Then in the evening the Year 13 music students took the spotlight. They each performed three pieces to a much larger audience of family, friends, and staff. With an intermission including some fancy foods for the audience and students to enjoy while they chatted about the performances. It was a wonderful night that celebrated the incredible musical talent within our school and demonstrated all their hard work and dedication. Well done to the students for their fantastic performances, they made everyone proud. Lastly a big thank you to Ms Lee Parcell for her efforts organising the night and to the audience that showed up to support our awesome students.
