Maadi Cup at Lake Karapiro, held 24-29 March 2025

T.B.H.S. had their final day of rowing at Maadi Cup on Saturday where they were not only seeking personal bests but aiming for medals.

Congratulations to the Novice Coxed Four (Stirling Heffernan, Josh Sadler, Charlie Cooper, Parker Anderson & Ned Brown) and to George Talbot in the single, for winning Gold medals. A great finish to the Maadi Cup regatta with two well deserved gold trophies and medals joining them on their flights home late on Sunday.

Maadi Cup 2025

Well done to the U18 Novice Coxed Skulls ( Tom Crawford, Charlie Cooper, Parker Anderson, Josh Sadler & Ned Brown) who won Bronze.

The squad should be very proud of their achievements at this regatta - reaching 6 x 'A' Finals and 2 x 'B' Finals in a national competition.

Thanks again to all the coaches, managers and parent helpers many of whom have worked tirelessly over the last 6 months to make this happen. T.B.H.S. had plenty of support in Cambridge with large numbers of family members (including numerous grandparents and friends) making the trip north to cheer the team on. Thanks to T.B.H.S. Rector Mr Thorp for joining the team as well.

Special mention to Dave and Viv Gordon for driving the truck trailer with all the boats all the way from Timaru to Cambridge and making the 2 day return trip, as without the boats there would be no races nor medals.

Congratulations to George Talbot who has been named as a trialist in the U18 South vs North squad in April.
