This year’s exchange was played in fine, cool conditions in Timaru on Wednesday the 6th of March.

TBHS batted first in the 1st XI fixture on the Rectory and amassed an imposing 290-9 off their 50 overs. There were contributions throughout the order with Jacob Gilkinson top scoring with 77, next best was Leo McNair’s 37. Waitaki could only muster 71 in reply with Josh Caird 3-31 and Luca Rogers 2-12 returning the best figures for Timaru.

An athletic Waitaki side took the honours by 3 sets to 1 in an entertaining Volleyball match played in the school gym. This was again a step up from regular Friday night competition for the Timaru side.

At School Park TBHS dominated the Touch with a promising, youthful Senior team. They took out all three games by clear-cut margins 9-0, 13-2 and 12-1 with the Reihana brothers Jay and Tai and year 10 student Jackson Robinson leading the way.

TBHS was equally dominant in the Tennis tie played at the South Canterbury Tennis Centre in Benvenue Avenue. They won by 6 matches to 0 with Isaac Williamson a standout performer.

The Golf was played out at the Pleasant Point club. Number one Scott McLaughlan again played well taking his lower handicapped opponent to the 17th hole before conceding the match 2&1. Quinn Austin 4&3, Dewald Strydom 4&3 & AJ Caldwell 10&8 all won their matches to give TBHS a 3-1 victory.

This saw TBHS claim the overall honours 4-1.
