The THSOB’s around the regions have had several gatherings worth of note.
John Welch initiated a Blenheim Old Boys’ gathering in October. A reminder that in the regions and towns around the country Timaru High School Old Boys can be found and share a bond.
Alister Wing and his Ashburton team had their second Old Boy gathering for the year on the 18 October with an encouraging turnout.
In Auckland in early November Noel Davies gathering of around 20 Old Boys the Auckland.
The North Canterbury Old Boys had planned a get together before the end of the year but postponed until April /May 2025
Rob Crozier (1960-64) took the initiative in arranging a reunion of sixth form classmates from 1964. Rob is based in Otaki but marshalled 14 final year mates to meet up for a Timaru / TBHS. Reports a most enjoyable weekend have filtered through.
At home base an end of year Christmas function is to take place in the Memorial Library on the 6th December. R J (Dick) Tayler will unveil his 1974 gold medal in its new display case.
The 150th TBHS Celebrations have been to the fore in recent Old Boys’ meetings. A steering group has been considering timing, venue, programme and lead personnel. More to be revealed in 2025.
