A selected team of 23 boys made the trip to Christchurch over the weekend of June 14-16 to contest the NZSS Cross Country and Regional Relays
The course was the familiar Ascot golf course and the weather was bitterly cold, although the rain did stop before the races started. As well as an individual ranking, boys are fighting to place in the 6 person team which determines the best school in the country. Our rankings were Year 9 placing 9th, under 16 finishing 5th (possibly our best ever result) and Seniors 13th. Every one of the team ran brilliantly and can be very proud of their race result. Below are the individual placings and times

26th Jack Scoon 10.47
90th Digby Porter 12.14
98th Bede Cleland 12.26

Sunday is the Regional Relays. Aoraki is up against it here and our teams finished 14th in Year 9, 16th and 18th in under 16 and 17th and 18th in Seniors The mixed Relays give the smaller regions a fighting chance. Jack Scoon was one of the boys in the Year 9 team that finished 4th, Hamish and Max finished 9th in their Senior mixed team and George Talbot claimed a National silver medal as part of the second placed under 16 team. George also had the distinction of the fastest relay time from TBHS runners.
