Mallet Man Musical proves to be a success

This year’s combined Girls’ High, Boys’ High Musical production has once again proven to be a success.

“Mallet Man – The Superhero Musical” was performed to full houses and appreciative audiences.

The show was based around a reluctant superhero named Mallet Man who is fed up with being taken for granted. He works around the clock, 365 days per year and has no time for a personal life… if only he could recruit an army of superhero wannabes!

The musical also featured incredibly catchy pop songs as well as spectacular animated projections throughout the performance. These projections filled the entire stage and set the scenes that included vibrant downtown streets, bank interiors and Las Vegas.

Over 30 students were involved with the show ranging from principle actors to ensemble, dancers and technical crew. In the main roles were TBHS head prefect, Sam Roadley as Mallet Man, Clive Genet and his side-kick and Blake O’Neill as the villain. Also in key roles were Via Bunting as the bubbly Nicky Pink, Rose Doran as Mrs White and Nakeisha Austin as Mallet Man’s girlfriend.

The original musical also proved that you don’t always need a globally well-known show to be successful as proven by the sold out shows and glowing audience feedback.
