The inaugural Summer exchange with John McGlashan College took place in cool, drizzly conditions in Timaru on Monday the 11 th of March
All three cricket matches were high scoring where the damp conditions made bowling and fielding difficult. In the 1st XI fixture at the Rectory TBHS batted first and compiled an impressive 301-6 in 50 overs batting first. The highlight was a fine 5th wicket partnership between Flynn Brookland and Hamish Peck that featured fine timing, good shot selection and excellent running between the wickets. Peck was dismissed for 60 but Brookland went on to compile a splendid unbeaten 136. McGlashan replied in aggressive fashion and raced through to 192-3 in 28 overs before persistent drizzle saw the game called off and handed McGlashan a DLS victory. Sage Cronje with 2-26 was the pick of the Timaru bowlers.
The 2nd XI match at School Park was a 40 over affair. TBHS amassed 249 on the back of aggressive batting from Jack Browning 53, Josh Caird 37, Reuben McKeown 33 and Reuben Brown 31. JMC replied with 226. Lachie Fisher 5-40 and Reuben Brown 2-48 led the way with the ball for TBHS. The Colts fixture at Ashbury Park was also a 40 over match.
