Aoraki Secondary Schools Pickleball Festival

By Lizanne Van Heerden | Posted: Monday April 3, 2023

held on Tuesday 28th March at the EA Networks Centre in Ashburton.

Ten of our boys took the opportunity to learn a new upcoming sport and showed some great skills at the end of the day.

Pickleball is a fun paddle sport for all ages. A cross between tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is played on a badminton doubles sized court using paddles and a hollow plastic ball with holes. The net is slightly lower than a tennis net and you can play singles or doubles. The game is easy for beginners to learn but can develop into a quick, fast paced, competitive game.

Well done to the 10 boys for having great attitudes and good sportsmanship on the day.
