Learning Recognition Credits (LRCs)
For every five credits a student earns, they get one extra LRC.
Students at NCEA Level 1 are eligible for up to ten additional credits.
Students at NCEA Levels 2 or 3 are eligible for up to eight additional credits.
The LRCs will only appear (if needed) when results are issued by NZQA in 2023.
Endorsements
To receive a Certificate Endorsement at Levels 1, 2 or 3, you will need 46 credits at Merit or Excellence level, instead of the usual 50.
University Entrance
To be awarded University Entrance you will need 14 credits in each of 2 UE Approved Subjects, and 12 credits in a third UE Approved Subject (you also need to attain NCEA Level 3 and meet literacy and numeracy requirements).
Summary
Level 1 students; if they get 70 credits, they will get Level 1
Level 2 students; if they get 72 credits, they will get Level 2 (this assumes they have carried 20 credits forward from Level 1)
Level 3 students; if they get 72 credits, they will get Level 3 (this assumes they have carried 20 credits forward from Level 2)
NOTE: LRCs are only awarded for credits gained in 2022. This could affect the above credit totals required.
