This year’s exchange was held on Monday June the 13th in Christchurch in very cool winter conditions.
For Timaru Football was a highlight with two emphatic victories 8-0 for the 1 stX1 and 6-0 in the junior match.
For the 1 st X1 a hat-trick from Reece Burtenshaw and a double from Pero Forman were the goal scoring highlights.The 1 st X1 Hockey encounter was an even one between two of the leading sidesin the Christchurch school’s competition. TBHS won 1-0 thanks to Co-CaptainNick Stephenson’s penalty corner strike. This saw TBHS lift the ConneticsChallenge Shield off STAC. The 2 nd X1 won 5-2, while the Colts side went down7-0 to a strong STAC team.In Rugby a fine first half featuring some exciting long range tries set STAC upfor a decisive 33-17 win. Best for TBHS were prop Zach Parkin who scoredtwice, halfback Ned Milne and loose forward Cale Tairua. The remaining gamessaw victories for TBHS in the 2 nd XV and Colts matches 20-17 and 29-14respectively. STAC picked up wins in the Under 16 and Under 14 matches 24-15and 41-5
In Basketball the junior game ebbed and flowed throughout before ending in a80-78 win to STAC. In the senior game TBHS kept at it but were a littleoutgunned 89-59 by a powerful opponent.The remaining fixtures were all won by STAC, Trapshooting 403-373,Badminton 4-2 and Chess 3-0. This proved decisive in St Andrews taking overallhonours 9-6.
