By TBHS | Posted: Sunday April 3, 2022

Netsafe presents to parents "virtually" a series of short (approximately 10 minutes each) videos.

Episode 1: Introduction to Netsafe, the Harmful Digital Communications Act and starting the conversations.

In this week's episode we begin the Netsafe Parent Series by talking with Paula Wistrand from Netsafe about the positive way we can interact with and support our young people as they learn to interact with the online world.

Episode 2: Filters, rules and creating a plan about online activities with your young person.

Paula explains how to set up a Plan with your young person, based on your own family's values. As well as that, Paula introduces us to a tool which N4L made available to parents to help initially filter serious sites from your kids.

Episode 3: Bullying, Privacy and Misinformation.

In this episode, I talk to Paula about the young person's concept of Privacy and how we can help them to protect that. In the second section we delve into the upswing of mis-information and AI algorithms and talk about what that means for the way we approach Social Media.
