Many schools around New Zealand involve students in the study skills programme Dare to Prepare which is designed to assist students to improve study techniques and enhance motivation and learning.
As a continuation of our Year 11 White Shirt Induction programme, our Year 11 students will participate in a two hour UCANDO Study Skills Programme. Seminars are presented by Stuart Wright who is highly regarded in this area and very entertaining.
These will occur on Tuesday 9 April and Wednesday 10 April. They are well timed given the proximity of school exams starting on 22 May and the expectation that students will begin their study and revision programme during the holidays.
There will also be a separate Parents' seminar on Tuesday 9 April in Hogben Hall, commencing at 7:00pm. At this seminar, Stuart will present information on the teenage brain and how to get the best out of it. They are of approximately 2 hour duration and free to Timaru Boys’ High School parents.
