Keaton Swindells recently spent two weeks in South Korea representing New Zealand at the Asian Roller Skating Championships.
With most of the skaters from the other countries having competed at the Junior World Championships in July, Keaton's goal was to gain as much experience as possible racing with 'the best of the best'.
Keaton took the opportunity to enter all eight races in the Junior Mens (under-19) grade, which ranged from a 100 metre sprint race through to the 20km elimination race.
Keaton's best performance was a 13th placing in the 10km points/elimination race. With another two years still in this age category, this event was a good introduction to racing at this level and a step towards Keaton's goal of racing at the Junior World Championships.
