SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving) are young, kiwi change-makers working hard in our schools and communities to improve teen safety on the roads.
The SADD Conference was held in
Christchurch at St Bede’s College in the second half of the April school
holidays and attended by Ethan Grimmer and Jeff
Halls. SADD is a great course
for people who wish to make a difference in New Zealand and in their own
community to lower the death rate of teens due to dangerous driving.
I received a lot out of this course. Drunk drivers are not safe on New Zealand roads and although we are all human and we all make mistakes, it is unacceptable that they are responsible for the taking of lives. It is shocking to hear how many teens are dying on our roads due to making poor choices. We are the ones who can lower the death toll of teens by sticking to the right speeds and paying attention to what we are doing. One little mistake can cause a crash. I would really like to thank Road Safety South Canterbury for giving both Jeff Halls and myself the opportunity of travelling to Christchurch for a worthwhile cause.
