Timaru Boys' High School offers a 10 week aviation course. At present we have three students attending the course (2 international students and a NZ domestic student).
The course can lead onto the boys doing the full time aviation course where they will gain their solo pilot's licence or they can diversify into aircraft engineering or any other aspects of aviation. A previous student, Sungjun An, has been accepted into the University of New South Wales Commercial Pilot's course. Larry Yeung, Brian Szeto, Hercules Cho and Edvan Law are all working their way through this full time course with ambitions of gaining entry into the Commercial Pilot's course either here in New Zealand or in Australia.
The course is not only designed for International Students but also for NZ domestic students from both Timaru Boys' High School and Timaru Girls' High School.
