Alex Tudgey and Thomas Kyle were crowned Junior and Senior Champions respectively at the annual school swimming sports held on Thursday 18 February in ideal conditions at the school’s outdoor pool.

Tudgey took out titles in the 50,100 and 200 metre freestyle events and the 50 metres backstroke while the Junior Runner-up Jack Boorer-Lilly edged out Tudgey in the 50 metre breaststroke.

The Senior grade competition was keen between Thomas Kyle, runner up William Tudgey and Benson Arnold. Arnold and Tudgey performed well in the shorter course events with Arnold taking out the 50 metre freestyle and breaststroke while Tudgey prevailed in the open 50 metre butterfly. Kyle was dominant over the longer distances in sweeping the 100, 200 and 1500 metre freestyle events from Tudgey and Arnold.

To the chagrin of Mr Sparrow, Hogben were the winning House, beating Tait by a mere 4 points in the Inter-house competition.

The staff team recorded a narrow victory over the Prefects in a pulsating eight person relay finish.
