The Year 12 Outdoor Education class headed to Mt Dobson in September for the Alpine practical component of their course.
Night time temperatures in the minus-10 range did not deter the boys who, under instruction from Aoraki Polytechnic students, learned basic Alpine skills with crampons, ice axes and the building of snow caves in which they then slept. This is always a highly anticipated event on the Outdoor Education calendar and is a great experience for all the boys involved. Thanks must go to the Aoraki Polytechnic students for their support of this activity.
