The mahau carving blessing ceremony was followed by a memorable trip for all of our Year 10 boys to Arowhenua Marae where they took part in a traditional pōwhiri, entertainment by the pupils of Arowhenua Māori School and activities, all topped off with a delicious hangi lunch.
The boys took part enthusiastically, singing and participating with vigour. Hangi lunch and pāwhara eels were the highlight.
