Three students from Timaru Boys' High School (Flynn Linton, Gus Mackenzie and Lachie Lamb) were members of a combined Ice Hockey team of players from Mackenzie College, Timaru Girls' High School and Otago Girls' High School.
These students spent four days at the 2018 Secondary Schools Ice Hockey Tournament in Dunedin from 3-5 September.
They are experienced players regularly playing in the Southern Ice Hockey League in the Under 15 and Under 18 teams but do not often get the chance to play together as a combined team, so they were really keen to do this.
They greatly enjoyed the tournament and showed improved teamwork over the four days of the competition and are already planning to participate in 2019.
