The Aoraki Ski Competition held on 23 August saw thirteen of our Timaru Boys’ students compete in three ski teams.
Timaru Boys A team won the senior boys event with Cody Gibson scoring the top combined time to come 1st. Sam Allan came 3rd, Taine Gibson 4th (pictured right) and Jeremy Cook was 6th individually. The top three skiers in each team contribute to the final score, giving Timaru Boys’ the win in the team event.
Strong opposition came from Mackenzie College until their two top skiers crashed out. The Giant Slalom course was hard and fast with one tight corner at the bottom of the course catching skiers out. This was a great effort from a great bunch of boys who represented their school well on the day. Conditions were cold at first then warmed to give us a sunny and exciting ski racing course. Congratulations to all the boys who skied and represented the school so well.
