South Island and Aoraki Secondary Schools Motocross Champs

By TBHS | Posted: Wednesday October 26, 2016

On Saturday 15 October, the South Island and Aoraki Secondary Schools MX Champs were held at the Backflips Track in Pleasant Point and saw Timaru Boys’ High School enter thirteen riders (four teams) - the most from any school represented.

Points from racing contributed to different titles: the Aoraki title and the South Island title.

Everyone had an awesome day of racing except that in one of the first competition races Tom Waldron crashed and ended up with a broken leg - tib and fib.

Usually the event would consist of three rounds of racing but due to the dryness and the dust it was creating, the day was cut short and only two races were completed. The boys can be extremely proud of their achievements.
