The TBHS Careers Department is being made aware of some great local job opportunities that are being promoted through the school notices, Timaru Boys' High School Careers Department Facebook page and directly to students via email and assemblies.
Unfortunately, the response from the boys has been lacklustre in general. Please encourage your son to take some action if they have intentions to leave school in the next 12-18 months as many of these potential employers are also open to providing work experience.
The jobs currently or recently on offer include...Building apprenticeships, Glazier apprentice, Electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering apprenticeship with Fonterra, Water Treatment Operator/Trainee with Timaru District Council, Fencing, Plumbing apprentice and Refrigeration engineering.
