Mrs Linda Merrilees
Linda is a Registered Nurse with an extensive and broad range of nursing experience gained over a 40 year career, which includes working in Intensive Care Units, the Royal Air Force, Thames Valley Police and in the Middle East. Originally from Scotland, Linda spent most of her early years in Australia and England. Following a few years in Abu Dhabi where she worked in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, before returning to Oxford in the UK, settling down and having 3 children, whilst a senior nurse in a Neurological Intensive Care Unit.
Linda came to New Zealand in 2005, settling in Timaru. She became a Public Health Nurse in the Mackenzie and Timaru areas, working with complex and high needs children, youth and families, and contributing to the delivery of the health curriculum in 13 schools within her portfolio. TBHS was one of the schools in which she worked for over 12 years, which allowed her to become familiar with the staff and the TBHS environment. Linda has experience as a Practice Nurse, and currently works some weekends at the Timaru After Hours Medical Service, as well as being a COVID vaccinator for the local DHB,
Linda’s role is to enhance and monitor the care, safety, welfare and wellbeing of each of the boarders. She does this by overseeing their physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs, and has a comprehensive and holistic approach to achieving this. Linda welcomes any contact from parents / caregivers, regarding concerns they may have about their son.
