The 2016 Rugby season was another good one for TBHS. The 1st XV had a great season, finishing 6th place in the very competitive UC Championship.
Along the way the highlight was the Moascar Cup victory versus St Andrew’s College, a prestigious cup won by only five South Island schools. Unfortunately we lost it on our first defence against Nelson College. The 1st XV also won the traditional fixture versus Waitaki Boys’ and Cullen Grace the team Captain started for the Crusaders Schools team.
The Under 18 teams finished 2nd and 3rd in local competitions with the White team suffering a heart-breaking loss in the final, when in extra time against Geraldine.
The Under 16 grade was highly competitive this year with TBHS supplying four of the eight teams in this competition.
The Tigers finished 6th, Colts 5th, Lions 3rd and the Pumas were 2nd after being very competitive in their final versus Roncalli. There were four Under 14.5 teams this season and they all developed as the season went on but none gained a place in the top four of their competition.
The TBHS Rugby Club wish to thank everyone who contributed off the field to make this season the success it was. Without all your support our successes would not have been possible.
