Friday 26 February saw 31 of our International Students from Timaru Boys’ and Timaru Girls’, three staff members and two helpers head away to John Scott Lodge.
The weather was extremely blustery and we thought it would deter us from having the fun we were expecting, but fortunately, this was not the case! The students who walked into the Lodge loved the opportunity of doing so while the few who were driven in, appreciated the beautiful surroundings on offer. The Confidence Course, kayaking, shooting and games saw all students fully participating with kayaking and shooting proving to be the most popular two activities. Card games were played amid non-stop conversations and games played in the evening saw much laughter from all involved. The two nights and two days went quickly with us all heading back to Timaru all the better for a weekend away in the high country, with many of the participants wishing that if there was another chance to head back to John Scott Lodge, they would definitely go again. Thanks go to Sarah Shaw, Kyle Smith, Anna Scadden and Barry Stewart for ensuring this weekend was able to take place.
