Senior Wood BCITO Construction
Senior Wood students have enjoyed creating a restful legacy from their course work. It was noted that the school environment could be enhanced through targeted seating areas based around the Rectory field. As part of the BCITO course, students engaged with a range of materials used within the construction industry, along with the processes that turn them into a finished product.
Sustainable materials have been used that will complement the existing surroundings as well as stand the test of time. A steel mould for the ends was firstly produced then used to pour the concrete into, while locally milled macrocarpa was sized and dynabolted to the seat ends. Students can be rightfully proud of their achievements as each bench seat will display a small plaque with their names on it.
