The Thomas House new accommodation build is set to commence during the holidays following Ministry of Education approval.
The Ministry of Education decision is the culmination of five years of discussion, planning and many volunteer hours given by current and past development committee members.
As this is a self-funded project with no financial support from the Ministry of Education the new build will be 100% owned by The Board of Trustees.
The Board acknowledges the supportive Hostel Community – past and present and the wider school community whose financial support given to the project so far has ensured that a new and improved Hostel facility can be built.
The Project Managers for the build are Logic Group, with David McBride providing Architect Services. Following a tendering process, Timaru Construction was the successful applicant.
This is certainly exciting times for not only Thomas House but the whole school.
To be able to future-proof the Hostel by up-grading hostel accommodation will ensure that the Hostel will remain strong which in turn contributes positively to the school roll and character at Timaru Boys’.
