The recently held Plunket Art Exhibition at Aigantighe Art Gallery saw schools around the district approached, seeking out skilled student artists to help celebrate 40 years of Plunket and to raise funds for their organisation.
Our school was given three 40cm square boards on which to create an artwork that celebrated the 40th birthday.
The works were arranged and mounted together and exhibited in the Aigantighe Gallery for a month. The works were for sale to the public, with one work, by Ben Robinson purchased for an undisclosed amount. It was an art work of forty nails and string forming a map of New Zealand.
The other works were, a sculpture of colouring pencils in the form of a portrait by Jack Winsley, and a double image work by Oli Anderson and Logan Hope.
