On the weekend of 10-11 February, the new Year 9 Thomas House boarders experienced a compulsory in-weekend. The Prefects were responsible for organising numerous activities, providing our new boys with a great opportunity for getting to know each other and the Timaru district.
Saturday morning activities included a water balloon fight, egg and spoon races, confidence course challenges, weet-bix eating and lots of other fun events. The boys biked all over Timaru and ended up at the volleyball nets at Caroline Bay for a round-robin competition.
A barbecue lunch at the beach and then bike races on the sand followed by a very welcome swim in the sea to cool down all contributed to a wonderful day out.
Back at Thomas House the boys all tie dyed a t-shirt then watched a movie at night accompanied by pizza. Sunday morning they played dodge ball in the gym then had a lovely brunch before heading to C-Bay for a swim and some hydro-sliding.
Thanks to the Senior Prefects Mac Edwards, Ryan Greenslade, James Watt, Will Pudney, Cathal Guiney and Shane Fikken for planning and leading the weekend events - their organisation was superb.
