Congratulations to George Hill who continues to go from strength to strength in his chosen field of music.
After a successful audition, George gained a place as a side drummer in the Foundation Youth Pipe Band of New Zealand.
George has been playing with the South Canterbury Highland Pipe Band for just over three years, and is the Drum Corporal for their Grade 2 Band, as well as Drum Sergeant for the TBHS Pipe Band.
The Foundation Youth Pipe Band is made up of around 40 young people from bands all over New Zealand, and practices together four times a year, incorporating school tours into their schedule. The Youth Band is currently preparing to compete in the Australian National Championships, to be held in Sydney at the start of October.
