The ANTS (Advanced Naturally Talented Students) took a day trip to Oamaru on 17 October and visited Rod Tempero Motor Body Builders and Steampunk HQ.
Rod specialises in manufacturing and restoring cars from
the 1950s and 1960s era from his workshop just south of Oamaru, which he's done
for the past 35 years. Tempero has manufactured and restored hundreds of cars
over the years, with his most recent work being the construction of a 1962 250
GTO Ferrari.
It was a great day out and thanks to both venues for an informative time. We appreciated seeing a replica of a £44 million car (a recent auction price for one of 33 ever made) and enjoyed visiting The Portal.
