At the beginning of April the Timaru Boys’ High School Lawn Bowls team took part in the 2016 inaugural South Island Secondary Schools Lawn Bowls pairs and singles tournament. Our players were Tom Taiaroa, Jason Hodgett, David Ellis and Cameron Ellis.
On Day One Jason Hodgett took second place in the singles
competition whilst an unlucky Tom Taiaroa was taken out by his Logan Park
counterpart.
Day Two saw Tom Taiaroa and Jason Hodgett win first place in the doubles competition and David Ellis and Cameron Ellis finishing a creditable third.
The event was a successful showcase for Secondary Schools’ lawn bowls and we look forward to participating again in 2017.
