Well done to the group of 24 young people who spent the weekend of 25-27 June raising funds for the World Vision 40 Hour Famine.
With representatives from Timaru Boys', Craighead and Geraldine High Schools, the weekend was spent in the Timaru Boys' Gymnasium where participants enjoyed a range of sports and competitions.
This was a major undertaking for these young people who not only forfeited their normal food intake during the weekend, but worked around their busy schedules.
Taking time out of their normal lives allowed time to appreciate the comfort that we live in here in New Zealand and to not take things for granted - especially food security.
The big breakfast on Sunday morning was a highlight!
Donations are still being received on their fundriasing page: https://tinyurl.com/TBHSWorldVision
