Mana Tāngata

Our aim is to give students strategies, knowledge, insight and an opportunity for reflection to help them on their journey to adulthood. Navigating the world in the 21st Century is not easy, through the Mana Tāngata program students will be given opportunities for self development and growth.

The outcome - Powerful People

Mana Tāngata encompasses many different areas of students development:

  • It is part of the students' lives for an entire year. This encourages ongoing development of self-awareness and builds strong, honest and respectful relationships with peers, parents and teachers, over time.
  • The four pillars of Hauora are delivered and shown equal importance throughout the programme.
    • Taha Tinana - Physical
    • Taha Wairua - Spiritual
    • Taha Whānau - Social
    • Taha Hinengaro - Mental Health
  • Students are enabled to approach emerging adulthood with awareness, respect and 'step up' to their new-found responsibility.
  • Students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones in class by taking leadership roles and opportunities, speaking in front of their peers and performing in front of large groups.
  • The year-long experience celebrates the transition from middle school to senior school and brings a positive cultural change within schools.
